New Free DENSO Guide to Using Small Assembly Robots in
Upstream Packaging Processes

LONG BEACH, Calif. — DENSO Robotics announced publication of a new free guide for manufacturers, packaging engineers, machine builders and system integrators, “Packaging Automation Trends: Using Small Assembly Robots in Upstream Packaging Processes.”

“With today’s increased global competition, manufacturers are under great pressure to cut costs wherever they can, and inevitably this means increased automation,” said Peter Cavallo, robotics sales manager, DENSO Sales California. “For packaging operations, fixed automation has been the traditional choice, but many manufacturers are finding that today’s robots provide a more flexible, lower-cost alternative.”

The new eight-page guide responds to this trend by examining the advantages of using small assembly robots in upstream packaging processes. These are processes that take place before final cartoning and palletizing, which usually require larger robots. The guide is available as a free download from the DENSO Robotics Web site at www.densorobotics.com/pdf/upstreampackagingrobots (160 KB).

DENSO is the world’s largest user of small assembly robots, with more than 17,000 DENSO robots designed and used in its own manufacturing facilities. More than 42,000 DENSO robots are used in other companies. DENSO Robotics offers a complete line of robots, controllers and software covering a wide range of applications.
